Football Is Almost Here, And That Means Kegs & Eggs

A Saturday football game by itself is awesome, but the true beauty of a college football game starts long before kickoff, with tailgating.

The Oredigger football schedule shows five home games during the regular season, and four of those games will be played on Saturdays. (The only exception being Tech v. Carroll, Thursday, August 31^st, 6 pm)

As you plan for this season, I want to remind you that Kegs & Eggs will again be the ‘pre-tailgate’ stop to make.

Kegs & Eggs runs from 9-11 am each Saturday home game. (Sept 16, 23 & Oct 7, 28) at Metals Sports Bar and Grill. Each week there will be breakfast specials, drink specials, Oredigger Trivia, as well as prizes and giveaways.

5518/Dig City Supply always puts together great giveaways, and they also have some special swag that you can only purchase at the event.

Each week of Kegs & Eggs also brings us a different ‘celebrity’ bartender. From living legends like Bob and Pam Green to Hattie and Chunky Thatcher. The celebrity bartenders will be there to fill your drink order and tell a story or two. (I may have an inside track on a couple of this year's bartenders, and they are going to be amazing, I promise you)

I also mentioned trivia, each week our crack research department puts together a list of Oredigger trivia questions to test our crowd’s Digg knowledge. Some of the questions involve the history of Montana Tech, some are about current players/teams/coaches, and some of the questions just might center around our guest bartenders.

Here is an example of some previous trivia questions:

Bob Green always claims to have started coaching when Moby Dick was a minnow, what year did he start at Montana Tech?   If you knew that, how about a follow-up? Who was his first opponent? 1987- Jamestown (9/05/87-- 22-19 Win)

Montana Tech and Carroll College have met 129 times in football, dating back to 1920. Over those years they have played on 6 different football fields in Butte, name them. (This one is tough)

How about one away from Football? The all-time assist leader for Oredigger Lady Basketball is? Hattie Thatcher.

Kegs & Eggs is a great pre-tailgate event. Join us at Metals every Saturday home game from 9-11 am, then head up to Bob Green to continue the tailgate until kickoff.
