BUTTE, MT - Listening to Corb Lund's music, you may experience something many would call "joy."

You also may hear fans refer to his music as folksy, maybe some bluegrass, definitely some blues, and many other classic country/western genres that Corb all ties up into an efficient and catchy bow atop a beautifully-wrapped gift. However, no matter what people try to pin down on Corb to define his sound, "joy" is frequently present and stated.

What's interesting about that is, after speaking with Corb, I found myself second-guessing my assumptions and research about him. Through his thought-provoking lyricism, his raw and authentic sound, and his admirable unwillingness to compromise on his values, one may find a soul that transcends "joy" and the 10s of different genres assigned to him. He truly feels like an individual.

In fact, I realized pretty quickly that Corb was someone I had never interviewed before. Unapologetic, unrelenting, and very appreciative, Corb would take one of my smugly-asked questions and tell me, in one way or another, "Nope, you're wrong, pal." Of course, this is not a criticism, but something to respect and commend: he knows who he is, who his fans are, what "the industry" wants from him (and what he wants from it), and what he likes.

There's truly no one else like Corb Lund.

Corb Lund was nice enough to take some time to answer my ridiculous questions ahead of his show at The Elm in Bozeman, MT, on Thursday, October 31st, 2024. You can buy tickets now at logjampresents.com.

Here is the full interview with Corb Lund (recorded October 17th, 2024) and Devon Brosnan, presented by Logjam Presents and Townsquare Media.
