Which Montana town was named one of the most quirkiest in America?
The name isn't the only thing quirky about this Montana town. Located in the north-central part of the state, Havre has been named one of the quirkiest small towns in America.
So what makes Havre so quirky? According to Country Living, one of the big reasons is the interesting history behind the little Montana town.
According to the article, the thing that sets Havre apart started in 1904 with the fire that destroyed most of the town. As the town was being rebuilt, businesses decided to relocate underground during the construction.
Of course, Havre isn't the only Montana town with a history of businesses underground, however, for those who are interested, there is a tour available that allows folks to check it out from below. It's called "Havre Beneath the Streets" and if you're ever in the area, it's certainly worth checking out.
Country Living lists Havre as number 4 with only Bodega Bay, California Casey, Illinois, and Colma California being ranked higher.
