For many, the thought is that Bozeman is a city where crime is on the rise.

First, lets chat about the latest incident. A man wrecked his car, stabbed someone who was trying to help him, caused a mini-manhunt, and was finally taken in. Turns out he was intoxicated, and had a prior record of driving under the influence.

Next, there is a loud group of people (mainly on social media) that somehow think that every crime committed in the area is done by some sort of foreigner who is here illegally and that ICE needs to be involved.

Is Bozeman a dangerous place to live?

So, what do the stats say? Is Bozeman dangerous? Should we be worried? Is there an increase in crime? It's true, with the population growth, there has been an increase in police calls. However, according to the Door Profit Crime Map, Bozeman is a safe city with it's neighborhoods receiving high ratings for safety.

In fact, according to the data, Bozeman's crime rate is 49 percent lower than the rest of the country.
