Over the years, I've had some pretty good ideas.

I once thought, "You know what would be great? A drive up ATM like machine where you can rent movies".  Soon after, they introduced Red Box. I also wrote to a major fast food chain with an idea on how to improve a classic burger; however, they wrote me back saying "Thanks, but no thanks," then came out with my idea 10 years later.

Granted, most of my brilliant ideas involve food, so you can imagine my excitement when I ran across what might be one of the greatest inventions in the world, and you can find it here in Montana.

Montana's Meat Vending Machines

We're all familiar with vending machines. Whether you're looking for a soda, a candy bar, or a bag of chips, we've put our money in the slot, pushed the button, and then reached in to get our purchased item. Heck, I remember the bowling alley I used to go to as a kid; they had all kinds of vending machines, including one where you could get things like hot coffee, hot chocolate, and hot soup.

However, this might be a first. A meat vending machine!

I have no clue as to who invented it, but it's brilliant! Looking for some beef jerky? How about a sausage? Just hit the meat vending machine and pick something out. What a time to be alive.

Oh, and for those who are curious, the folks over at Discount Meats in Great Falls have a 24/7 meat vending machine located outside of the store. So, no matter what time of day, for those locals looking for the perfect protein fix, you're in luck.

A quick internet search shows that there are other meat vending machines across the country, and it makes me wonder, why hasn't this caught on quicker? I mean, I suppose there is upkeep, and you probably have to have a machine that refrigerates, and with the fact that many Montana communities have a grocery store that's open 24/7, maybe it's not as needed as I think it is.

Either way, it's super cool and I would totally try it out. Of course, Discount Meats is just one of the great meat shops located here in Big Sky Country.
