According to our friends over at WalletHub, Montana's two safest towns and two of the safest towns in the United States are...Billings and Missoula. Yep, you read that right. Now, you might be wondering, what is the criteria? I'm glad you asked. The criteria are listed below:

Billings is ranked the 68th safest city in America, while Missoula is ranked 34th. So, both towns are making the Top 75, which is impressive when you consider all the cities located across the United States.

I do think that population played a factor in this, however. I believe that for a town or city to be considered for the list, it must have a minimum number of people living within its city limits, which would explain why certain towns didn't make the list.
