It's almost that time of year again, we're talking the biggest football game in the state of Montana, the one and only, Brawl of the Wild.

For over 100 years, the University of Montana and Montana State University have gotten together to see which team reigns supreme over Big Sky Country.  You see, when it comes to Montana, you're either a Cat or a Griz. Friendships are put on hold, Thanksgivings are ruined, and marriages are strained.

For those who don't know, the very first Brawl of the Wild was played on Thanksgiving Day back in 1897. Over the years, the Griz have been quite successful, but in the past couple of decades, the tides have shifted somewhat. The University of Montana has always been the "Big Brother," while Montana State was viewed as "Little Brother".

Well, let's say that in the last few years, things have changed a bit, and now Little Brother has grown up into a sophisticated, better-looking brother that all the ladies want to go out with.

As you can imagine, this is hard for Big Brother to accept.

Not only has MSU become a real problem to deal with on the field, but thanks to shows like Yellowstone and ESPN Game Day, Bozeman is the "it" town in Montana. It's the place everyone wants to visit,  and it's become a destination for the rich and famous,

The Brawl of the Wild

Now, not everyone is happy about that, but ESPN Game Day did say that Bozeman was their favorite stop a couple of years back. Of course, this infuriated Missoula and all of the Griz faithful, as they fancy themselves the bigger program, the better city, with the more dedicated fans.

It's cute they think that, but do they have Beth Dutton on the big screen talking about when the Bobcats play as the Rodeo team rides their horses out on the field? The answer to that question is no.
