What You Need to Know About Belgrade's New Water Restrictions

On April 1, 2025, the Belgrade City Council adopted Resolution No. 2025-7, which restricts irrigation and sets specific hours where irrigating is permitted.

While the city has adequate water supply, the existing distribution system operates near capacity during peak demand periods, and restrictions will ensure an adequate water supply in the event of a fire emergency.

Here's what you need to know about the new irrigation restrictions.

  • Outdoor irrigation will be prohibited between the hours of 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Belgrade residents can irrigate outside of those hours.
  • The only exception is hand-watering using a hose equipped with an automatic shut-off nozzle.
  • The restrictions will remain in place until they are lifted by Belgrade's city manager.

Residents are encouraged to follow the guidance. Those who do not could face fines or criminal charges. Per Belgrade City Code Section 9-1-7-2, unauthorized irrigation is a misdemeanor violation.
