The NAIA announced the outdoor track and field multi-event qualifiers for the 2024 NAIA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Marion, Ind. The top 16 marks in the heptathlon qualify to compete at the national championship. With the second-highest score in the NAIA this season, Montana Tech’s Abby Clark has made the cut to compete at the National Championships.
The Frontier Conference Track and Field Championships will be held in Butte, Mont. on May 5th and 6th. This will be the first time the Championships will be contested in the Mining City.
The 2023 Montana Tech Men's & Women's Track and Field team and the 2023 Volleyball team were on hand Thursday evening at Kelvin Sampson Court for the unveiling of the school's two newest championship banners during halftime of the men's basketball team's game against Rocky Mountain College.
Montana Tech finished their third trip and only second appearance at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. The Orediggers earned four All-American honors in a solid showing for a young team on the national stage.
Zach Kughn won both the Mens and Womens Coach of the Year award after the Orediggers won both championships last week while Abby Clark won her second Womens Frontier Conference Field Athlete of the Year award and Dom Maricellii was named the Mens Track Athlete of the Year.
Montana Tech’s Abby Clark and Dom Maricelli are the Frontier Conference/Erck Hotels Track & Field Athletes of the Week. The Montana Tech Orediggers competed in Billings last week for the Frontier Conference Championships. Both men’s and women’s Oredigger track & field teams won the Frontier Conference Championship meet.
