Thursday, November 7th,the Elks at 206 W. Galena will be hosting the 2nd Annual "Thanks For Giving" Bingo and Silent Auction Fundraiser to support the Belmont Center and Butte's Senior Citizens. Doors open at 4 and the first game is at 5pm with a $10 entry fee that will include 2 bingo packets of 3 cards with 10 games each. Additional packets will be available for $5 and bonus specials will be played at $1 per board. Want more? How about a huge silent auction, a 50/50, a bake sale and plenty of food and beverages available for purchase.
It is nothing new to be reading that the price of groceries is going through the roof. Inflation has been something that we've lived with all of our lives but recently prices just seem to be out of control and getting higher as we speak. It doesn't seem to be that long ago that a can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup at WalMart in Butte was less than 50 cents. It is well over a buck now and this is true from soup to, well, nuts.

The Belmont Senior Center in Butte is ready for the dog days of summer with a full slate of events, activities, classes and functions for the Senior population here in Butte. Of course, the Belmont is a popular place for a weekday lunch or even a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll and August has a lot more to offer, from bingo to exercise, as their August schedule of events will attest.

This month the Belmont Senior Citizens Center in Butte has a couple of sessions with Intermountain Health Care (formerly St. James) and A1 Ambulance that you need to know about. Coming this Monday, November 14th at 11am is an opportunity to learn about early heart attack recognition and care followed by a session on medication safety and adherence on Tuesday the 15th. These important clinics are in addition to a busy month of activity at the Belmont.
