Bert Mooney Airport

Helena faces many of the same issues Butte does when it comes to flying locally but they have had a lot more success. They have kept fares down. They have even secured additional flights. But how? Well, Callie Aschim is the President of the Helena Area Chamber of Commerce and she wants to sit down and explain how they are doing it, and you are invited to meet with her. Monday, September 16th, Callie will give a brief overview of Helena's doings at Butte Brewing Company at 465 E. Galena at 5:30pm. Pizza and salad will be served. After Callie's presentation focus will turn to the Bert Mooney Airport and how we can increase its services.

This may be the only car show in Montana that you are allowed to fly into. But then again, not a lot of car shows take place at an airport or have planes and flight simulators for folks to check out. Butte's Wings & Wheels does. Wings & Wheels is not only one of the biggest car shows of the early season but aircraft will be on display too and they will give you a chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at how an airport operates. Oh, and there will be flight simulators on hand as well. Sound fun? Well, it is. And there's lots to eat too.

As we get closer to Saturday's "Wings and Wheels" event at the Bert Mooney Airport, it just seems to keep growing bigger and more exciting. It's a car show. It's an aircraft show. There will be skydivers recreating a historic jump out of the "Miss Montana" airplane and there will be a lot of military equipment on hand for you to check out.

Coming to Butte's Bert Mooney Airport on Saturday, June 10 is the 3rd annual Wings and Wheels event and in its third year it has grown to an all-day event that features fun and exciting things for car and airplane enthusiasts of all ages. The best part? Admission is free. Come experience all of the great things that Butte's airport has to offer.
