Brewery Follies

The Brewery Follies in Virginia City is something that everyone should experience whether you're a lifelong Montanan or one of our many visitors. Think vaudeville with a modern take. A musical revue with plenty of silliness and even a slight political take. A stage show full of comedy and music, nothing obscene but still, not exactly squeaky clean. Risque? Maybe, but whatever the description this troupe has had audiences in Virginia City laughing summer after summer at the historic H.S. Gilbert Brewery for decades with no plans on slowing down. In fact, they're taking their act on the road and they will be in Butte this weekend for a pair of shows.

Virginia City's incredible Brewery Follies will perform their irreverant and politcally-incorrect "Twistmas in December" Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm, doors open at 6:30pm. This incredibly funny and talented group of actors, actresses and musicians promise "foolshness, absurdity, satire and nonsense".

Multitalented Fred Crase will be putting on a fundraiser concert this Saturday night at the Butte Elks Lodge that has a lot of people excited. Of course, we know Fred from his work with the Brewery Follies as the Musical Director and his work as Choir Director of the Mining City Choral Union. He does incredible work with whatever his endeavor. But Saturday Night, in addition to being Alright For Fighting (sorry, I couldn't resist), Fred will be known as Sir Elton John as he takes the stage for a fundraiser show, "The Bitch Is Back", with proceeds going not only to the Mining City Choral Union but also to Butte's Orphan Girl Children's Theatre.

Go to Virginia City and Nevada City for the history, first and foremost, but stay for the entertainment. Virginia City is an incredible hub for theatrical fun.

You really don't need a lot of reasons to support Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Butte, but they're making it really easy and fun with "Prom Through The Decades" tomorrow night at the Star Lanes Event Center. It is just what is sounds like. An adult prom. Only now we have no curfews and (hopefully) better judgment.

The holiday season is action-packed, and Saturday, DECEMBER 10th, is twofold! Here's a list of festive events to check out all in one day on the 10TH in the surrounding area, or choose your top two or three favorites!
