The Butte Central Maroons boys and girls basketball teams will wrap up their respective regular season tonight with a varsity doubleheader at B.W. Lodge Gymnasium in Dillon, Montana against the Beaverhead County High School Beavers. While a Butte Central/Dillon contest is rarely one to miss, tonight's pairing will have playoff seeding implications for the boys while the girls postseason has been and their upcoming playoff game already set.

After a soggy weekend, Butte High and Butte Central look to get back on track for the last few remaining dates of the spring sports season. The Western A boys and girls combined basketball tournament gets underway Thursday morning at the Butte Civic Center and things are going to get a bit testy. For most of the season, Frenchtown, Hamilton, Dillon and Butte Central have been ranked in the state's top 5 and all believe they have what it takes to win the state championship. The issue is, they are all not only in the same division, but they are in the same Southwestern A conference. Most of their combined losses have come to, well, each other. And all four teams will have to fight through the Northwestern A to get back to Butte for State. Never an easy task. It's tournament time. Things are about to get crazy. The Dillon Beavers rolled into the Butte Civic Center with new head coaches for both their boys' and girls' basketball teams and rolled out of town with a pair of hard-fought victories Tuesday evening over the Butte High Bulldogs.
