While only a pair of games are on the college sports schedule here in Butte, there is a lot of action happening only a couple hours away from town in either direction, especially if you like playoff football.

Any way you slice it, the 2023-24 season is going to be an exciting one as both the men and women now have an exhibition game each under their belts and look forward to nonconference play which begins this month. Montana Tech head women’s basketball coach Jeff Graham announced his first recruiting class today. The Orediggers have six commits starting school in the fall with checking almost every box on the recruit checklist. In addition to the incoming six, the Orediggers return 10 student-athletes including starters Soda Rice and Aubrie Rademacher.

The Frontier Conference announced its All-Academic teams for Men's and Women's Basketball earlier today and the Montana Tech Orediggers are very well-represented on both teams.

The University of Providence Women jumped out to an early 12-0 lead which was too much for Montana Tech to overcome and the Argos went on to a 77-58 win over the Orediggers Thursday night at Kelvin Sampson Court
