The Montana Tech Orediggers have been reaching heights not seen before in practically every aspect of their athletic programs. From basketball, football and volleyball to their recently added track and field and cross country programs, the Orediggers continue to win as individual teams and to collectively grow as a program well. These types of achievements are not done without solid leadership at the very top and again this year, Montana Tech's Matt Stepan has been named the Frontier Conference Athletic Director of the Year.

Montana Tech Athletics announced the 2023 Hall of Fame Class. The Orediggers welcome five individuals and one team to the Digger Athletics Hall of Fame this fall. The class of individuals includes former student-athletes Chris Casne, Byron Olson, Bryan Vaughns, and William Tiddy as a Legacy member. The 1982 Volleyball Team will be inducted as the only team entering the Digger Athletic Hall of Fame this year.

The Montana Tech golf teams wrapped up a solid season with second place finishes on both the men’s and women’s sides after the final round at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson, Nevada Wednesday. Rocky Mountain College repeated as men’s and women’s conference champions and led after each round of the three-day tournament.

Playing without Frontier Conference MVP Caleb Bellach, the Montana Tech Orediggers found solid ground in overtime and were able to fend off Thomas More University of Kentucky 77-72 in the second round of the NAIA National Men's Basketball Tournament Wednesday night at Kelvin Sampson Court.
