Butte has proven itself as a destination city. The Butte Tourism Improvement District wants to not only support these big events that are already happening but to possible assist with funding for events that may be still in the planning stages. Are you part of an event or business that brings people to town and puts guests in hotel rooms? There may be money available for you. Uptown Hoops: Butte's Premier 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Extravaganza
Uptown Hoops is in its new location at the Original Mineyard and there is so much to see and do. It's a 3-on-3 tournament with age divisions from first grade all the way up to adults. And there are some phenomenal players that show up each year. Get up there early for the first round of games. The National Anthem will start things off at 8:30am on Saturday followed by a shoot around and tipoff at 9. Games will run until 5pm and then they are going to take it up a notch. This year from 5pm to 7pm there will be a slam dunk contest, a three-point shootout and a lightning free-throw contest, all offering a $500 cash prize along with Uptown Hoops merch. They will also recognize the winners of the kids coloring contest and dedicate the kids contests in honor and memory of Jerry Hogan. On Sunday games will once agan begin at 9am with the awards ceremony and t shirt distribution.

Uptown Hoops 2024 is a 3-on-3 basketball tournament being played June 22nd and 23rd at the Original Mineyard in historic Uptown Butte. In addition to what is going to be an amazing backdrop, Uptown Hoops is paying $500 to the winners of select divisions and is offering games for all ages and skill levels from 1st and 2nd grade boys and girls to adult men's and women's along with co ed and adaptive co ed. The weekend will also feature some fun skills competitions that will be offering prize money thanks to some generous local sponsors.

The event has grown to include a slam dunk contest, a three-point shootout and a lightning contest and with the backing of some inpressive local sponsors like Leskovar Motors, Town Pump, McDonald's and TDS it is clear that this will be a big event not only this year but for many summers to come. This year, Uptown Hoops will be taking place in the Original Mineyard which will only add to it's identity and there is still time to be a part of the event either as a player a worker or just a fan.
