Kiwanis Bicycle Rodeo This Saturday at the Butte Civic Center Parking Lot
This Saturday, the Silver Bow Kiwanis invite bicyclists of all ages to join them in the Butte Civic Center parking lot for their annual Bicycle Rodeo. This family friendly event is in its 26th year and will be taking place from 10am until 12:30pm offering free bike inspections, instruction on bicycle safety, free bicycle helmets as well as complimentary pizza and pop.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BICYCLE SAFETY
Bicycle safety is more important than many people realize. Whether you're riding to school, commuting to work, or just out for some fresh air, staying safe on your bike should always be a priority.
First things first: your bicycle needs to be in good working order. Brakes that actually stop you, tires that aren’t flat, and a chain that doesn’t slip are basic but crucial. A poorly maintained bike can turn a fun ride into a serious accident. It’s like driving a car without working headlights or worn-out brakes—it’s just not worth the risk.
Then there’s the safety gear. A properly fitting helmet can literally save your life in a crash. Riders in Butte should also consider wearing bright clothing or reflectors help cars see you, especially at dawn or dusk. Following the rules of the road, signaling your turns, and staying alert—these all make a huge difference.
The goal is to enjoy the ride and get where you’re going safely. A well-maintained bike and good safety habits give you peace of mind and help protect everyone on the road. So before you hop on and take off, take a minute to check your bike and gear—it’s time well spent.
Spend some quality time this Saturday with the Silver Bow Kiwanis at the Bicycle Rodeo.
