The Bulldog boys are on the road tonight looking to take down the Knights of Missoula Hellgate.

The first time they met the Knights walked away with a 57-38 victory. Connor Dick led the Knights in scoring that night with 16, Easton Sant followed with 8. Connor has led the Knights in scoring 9 times this year, putting up a season-high 28 against Sentinel the first time they met, and 16 this past Tuesday.

Hellgate enters the ballgame on top of the Western AA with an 8-2 record.  But there is a significant logjam at the top with 4 games to play. Here is a rundown of the AA standings as of today.

Hellgate              8-2
Helena High       6-3
Big Sky               6-4
Butte High          6-4
Capital                5-4
Glacier                5-4
Flathead             1-8
Sentinel              1-9

So again, there Is a lot of wiggle room for the teams at the top, and every game is critically important from here to the finish line.

The Bulldogs head to Missoula coming off a big 87-78 win over Missoula Big Sky. Jace Stenson and Hudson Luedtke each put up 24 points in that win, and Cameron Gurnsey knocked down 17. This Bulldog team thrives on tempo if they can grab momentum, watch out.

The Dogs are led by the 3 guys mentioned earlier, Luedtke, Stenson, and Gurnsey, but their depth really makes them dangerous. Guys like Casey Merrifield, Tocher Lee, Dylan Bache, and Bo Demarais can all step up and contribute in big ways.

Butte High has a tough road to grab a top 4 seed in the Divisional tournament, but it is doable. After tonight they go to Sentinel and Helena High, and then finish with Capital at home. The goal is to fight your way into that State Tournament that will be played at the Butte Civic Center March 9th-11th. The next step on that path leads to the Hellgate gym tonight, for a 7:15 pm start time.
