Montana Tech athletes are making waves this year. Football, volleyball, basketball and track and field teams from the school on the hill are setting records and rasing the bar for those who strive to wear the Green and White. But it is not only at the NAIA level that Tech athletes are making waves as Tech's Judo Club recently got a big reason to brag.

What does tourism mean to Butte? Well, just walk through the Uptown on any given Summer weekend and chances are pretty good that you're going to find some sort of festival or celebration going on and you'll definitely see a lot of out-of-state license plates. Head to a fishing access point or boat launch and chances are you'll be waiting your turn, as well. The winter brings a myriad of skiing and snowmobiling adventurers from across the globe to our neck of the woods and our area's natural splendor and inviting demeanor more often than not leads to repeat visitors. Tourism is a huge part of not only Butte's economy but of the entire state's as well, and it is with that in mind the Montana Chamber of Commerce is hosting their 2nd Annual Convergence Festival on May 21st and 22nd here in the Mining City.

The An Ri Ra Montana Irish Festival is coming up on a milestone this summer. The weekend of August 9th through the 11th will be the festival's 20th year in the Mining City and organizers are expecting the best festival to date. In February, organizers announced the headlining performers for this years festival at the Original Mineyard and attendees are in for a treat as The Elders, Altan, The Spain Brothers and the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance will be this year's headliners.

Back by the popular demand for winter to be over, the Butte Farmers' Market will return for the 2024 season on Saturday, May 18 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on West Park Street between Main and Dakota Streets in Uptown Butte. Organizers have announced the second wave of performers coming to the Montana Folk Festival in Butte, Montana this July 12-14. “It’s shaping up to be a strong lineup for this July's Montana Folk Festival packed with master musicians and dancers” says Festival Director George Everett.
