The following is from a press release:

Butte Cobras Start Playoffs on Friday

The Butte Cobras are heading to the North American 3 Hockey League (3HL) Playoffs. Butte’s Jr. A Hockey team clinched the fourth Frontier Division playoff seed with a shootout win over the Helena Bighorns, the division’s top team, on Friday, March 3rd. The playoffs start this Friday (March 10th) in Butte at 7:30. Helena will host on Saturday at 7:05 and Sunday, if necessary, at 5:05. Butte finished the regular season with a 25-20-1-1 record and fourth place finish in the Frontier Division, which features teams from Helena, Bozeman, Great Falls, Wyoming, and South Dakota.

“When I arrived in December, the team was talented but without clear direction. We were really only two lines deep. Now we are four lines deep, we have a top-notch defensive core, great goaltending, and we have direction. We will be a handful to deal with in the playoffs,” said  Butte Head Coach Marc Brodeur, who took over coaching duties after the holiday break.

Friday’s game in Butte will be played at the Butte Community Ice Center (1700 Wall St), and tickets are just $10. Doors open one hour prior.

Full Playoff Schedule:

Game 1: Friday at Butte, 7:30 PM

Game 2: Saturday at Helena, 7:05 PM

Game 3 (if nec): Sunday at Helena, 5:05 PM
