Butte Cares Color Run set for St. Patrick’s Day at Stodden Park
Again this St. Patrick's Day, Butte Cares and the Butte-Silver Bow Parks and Recreation Department are teaming up to give kids and adults a fun, healthy way to celebrate the holiday here in Butte with the annual St. Patrick's Day Color Run set for March 17th.
For years now this event has been growing and this year will be no exception as it is set to include activity booths, food and music and is promising to be a fun and memorable event for all whether you're one of the participants or one of the volunteers.
What is a "color run" you might ask? Well, this year the participants may choose from a 1 kilometer or 5 kilometer course in which they may run, walk, skip or even dance their way through (all dependent on how serious they are about their times, of course) while being showered with colored powder at various "color stations" strategically placed throughout the race course. This event is for youth, adults and the community to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and is a SUBSTANCE FREE EVENT.
Races this year begin at 4pm and if you can't make it, there is a virtual option. Virtual participants can complete their run on March 17th and submit their times online.
Volunteers are again needed this year to make the event a success and if you are interested in helping out, just call (406) 498-9584 or visit the Butte Cares website for further details and information.. You can even get signed up right now, just click here.
