This is a huge week for yours truly. The Milwaukee Brewers are heading back to the World Series for the first time in my life, and for the first time since 1982.

I grew up rooting for the lowly Brewers. They were really, really bad for the first 12 years of my life until they finally made the playoffs. Even after they broke the streak, it took them another decade until they became a consistently sound baseball team.

It still doesn't feel real.

Nestor Corredor's Montana Baseball Connection

Now that I live in Montana, it's fun to write about one Montana-Milwaukee Brewers connection.

The Brewers' Major League Field Coordinator, Nestor Corredor, was once the manager of the defunct Helena Brewers. Corredor was Helena's manager from 2016 to 2018.

Nestor Corredor's Years Managing the Helena Brewers

His tenure as Helena's manager wasn't particularly successful. He posted records of 28-46, 28-48, and 36-40. A three-year record of 92-134.

Corredor managed several other Brewers minor league teams like the DSL and AZL Brewers and another Pioneer Baseball League team, the Rocky Mountain Vibes.

Before his managing days, he had two stints with the Helena Brewers as a player in 2004 and again in 2008. Corredor was a catcher for most of his career but made the drastic switch to a right-handed pitcher in 2008.

Corredor is originally from Venezuela, where he is still a part of the national team as a batting practice pitcher with the World Baseball Classic last year.
