We recently chatted about how Montana didn't make the list of "Good Neighbors" and that got me thinking a little bit.

Are Montanans not friendly? Well, some aren't, but for the most part, they are. So, if you were looking for the friendliest town in Montana, where would you go? For the last few years, that honor has gone to Whitefish. Not only has it been named the friendliest town in Montana, it's also been named the friendliest town in the United States.

Ok, other than Whitefish, which Montana town is the friendliest?

We asked that question, and we received several different answers with the majority of the answers being small towns throughout the state. For instance, Big Timber received a whole lot of love. However, according to multiple sites, it's not Big Timber.

So, which town is it?

According to the data, if you're looking for the friendliest town in Montana, other than Whitefish, you might want to head to Livingston. Now, I realize there will be those who disagree with this, but I've always found the folks in Livingston to be extremely friendly. They're always welcoming and willing to chat about whatever. Livingston is my favorite small town out there, and it's not just because of Mark's In & Out.

So, what about third place?

Well, if you were surprised by Livingston at number 2, get ready to be shocked. According to the data, the 3rd most friendly town in Montana is...Butte. While this might be a headscratcher for some, I agree with this. I've spent some time in Butte, and the folks are always welcoming. It might not be the prettiest town in Montana, but the people are always nice...to me at least.
