Why Montana Is The Place To Be On Black Friday This Year
Things have changed over the years.
Nowadays, lots of Montanans don't even leave the comfort of their homes to shop. With platforms like Amazon and retail store websites, we just get on our phone, order what we want, and wait for it to be delivered to our door.
Take Black Friday, for example. There was a time when the shopper's strategy was involved.
People had a plan. There was a list of stores, items that needed to be purchased, and a plan to make sure you hit them all before a certain time. So, every year, people would like up with a warm, caffeinated beverage in hand to prepare to take on the day, even if that meant getting into a scrape over the last flatscreen TV or whatever Christmas toy was popular that year.

I bring this up because the folks over at Unit 4 decided to compile data from each of the 50 states to determine which states have the best deals on Black Friday. Oh, and in case you're curious, Montana did ok.
Where does Montana rank for Black Friday deals?
According to the research, if you're looking to score the biggest bang for your buck, Montana is where you want to be. In fact, only 2 states are ranked higher than Montana when it comes to the best deals, and those states are Oregon and New Hampshire.
So, why is Montana a great place to shop on Black Friday?
Well, the data suggests that no sales tax is a big factor, as is the lack of people. You see, we have a handful of malls and not a lot of folks, so that increases your chances of getting the items you're looking for at a good price. Plus, tons of stores will be having major sales like Bob Ward's, Scheel's, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Costco, and all of the stores in the malls.
