Montana’s Brawl of The Wild Did Not Disappoint, Who’s Ready For Part 2?

Well, the game is over, the dust has settled, and one team reigns supreme over the state of Montana. Congratulations to the Montana State Bobcats

Unless you've been under a rock, the Brawl of the Wild happened on Saturday in Missoula, where the #3 MSU Bobcats took on the #2 UM Griz. A lot was riding on the game; not only would the winner be crowned the Big Sky Conference Champion, but they would also have the Great Divide Trophy and be able to talk smack for the next 12 months. In the end, a mistake by the Griz and a blocked kick by the Cats were the difference as MSU will now have the Great Divide Trophy for another year after winning 31-28.

The Brawl, also known as Cat-Griz, has been ongoing for well over 120 years and is one of the most prominent rivalries in college sports. Of course, the Brawl happens in Various Sports, Such as Basketball, Volleyball, and track, but it's football that really gets the state fired up.

Now that it's settled and the Cats are the victors and Big Sky Conference Champions, next is the playoffs. Montana State was named the 2nd seed, which means as long as they keep winning, they keep playing at home until the National Championship Game, which is in Nashville this year. (No offense, Frisco, TX, but Nashville sounds like a lot more fun)

However, this is where it gets interesting. Both Montana State and Montana will get a first-round bye.

Brawl of the Wild, Part 2?

Montana will play the winner of UC Davis and North Dakota, and Montana State will play the winner of Youngstown State and Yale. The interesting part? We are only a couple of playoff wins from both teams seeing Brawl of the Wild, Part 2.

Yep, it's very possible that these two teams could meet in the playoffs and face each other again.

How great would that be? Not one Brawl of the Wild, but two! One in Missoula, AND one in Bozeman? Seriously? Could we be so lucky? Just the possibility is making my head hurt; however, before we get too far ahead of ourselves, both teams have business to take care of.
