Several airlines have been added over the years.

Montana has become an exciting market for many airlines to add routes. Over the past five years, Southwest, Sun Country, and others have added flights to several Montana airports.

One airline that added flights in recent years was Avelo Airlines. Avelo sadly didn't find success and decided to leave all Montana airports.

Avelo offered direct and affordable flights to Burbank, and it was a fantastic route. The only issue was that local customers didn’t take advantage due to a crowded market.

It's sad to see them leave, but a new airline might be on the way.

Could they come to Montana soon?

The Points Guy reports that Breeze Airways will add flights to several routes that Avelo Airlines has abandoned.

Breeze Airways is a new budget airline that operates flights across the East Coast and Midwest and has found success with its model. The airline has decided to try its model in the West.

Breeze will take over routes to California and Las Vegas at small airports in Oregon and Washington by 2026.

What does this move mean for Montana?

With Avelo leaving Montana, a void is created at several Montana airports for a new route to be added. If Breeze Airways is smart, it won't route flights to California or Las Vegas. Breeze Airways should add a direct flight to an exciting location in the Midwest or on the East Coast.

If Breeze Airways added a seasonal flight to one of its Florida locations or New Orleans, it could be a hit with locals looking to travel that direction on a budget.
