Oredigger Football lands another outstanding Bulldog
Zach Tierney has announced his commitment to sign with Oredigger Football.
Tierney is a 3-year starter on both sides of the ball for the Bulldogs, and a player that made an immediate impact on the field. In his sophomore season, Zach was voted 2nd team Western AA All-Conference O-Lineman, 2nd Team All-Conference D-Lineman, and Honorable Mention All-State on Offense and Defense.
That was just the start, in his junior season he was voted 1st Team All-Conference and All-State at Guard.
In his Senior campaign, he finished 1st Team All-Conference on both sides of the ball, repeated 1st Team All-State at offensive guard, and was awarded 2nd Team All-State on the Defensive Line.
Zach Tierney has played a lot of football for Coach Arie Grey and has continually played at a high level.
“He has the ability to take games over, and he has taken games over” Head Coach Arie Grey talking about Zach before Senior Day.
“He is physical with his hands, he is explosive. There are things that he will do, and I will be like, I have never seen that before”
In his 3 seasons playing in the offensive front, the Bulldogs have averaged over 300 yards of offense a game. (300 in 2020, 360 in 2021, and 370 this year)
Defensively he is a force up front, averaging over 40 tackles a season.
Discussing his future at Montana Tech, the Oredigger coaches feel that his skill set could see him making an impact on either side of the football, and it might just come down to whichever allows him to get on the field the quickest.
I’ll wrap it up with Butte High coach Arie Grey “He is another guy that cares about his teammates and works hard. His teammates have a ton of respect for him, they care about him, and they love him.”
Zach Tierney has had an excellent tenure at Butte High, and I can’t wait for him to strap on the copper and green.
