Oredigger Football Returns Home, Volleyball, Cross Country on the Road This Week

The Montana Tech football and volleyball teams are both red-hot entering this week's play.  The Oredigger volleyball team heads out on the road for a pair of conference games while the football team returns home Saturday.  Oredigger Cross Country will also see action. Here is what's happening with Montana Tech Athletics this week.

FOOTBALL

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 - VS. SOUTHERN OREGON

The Orediggers are currently as high as they have ever been as far as national rankings go, currently the third-ranked team in the NAIA after opening the season with convincing wins over OUAZ, Carroll College and Montana-Western.  Southern Oregon comes to town with a 1-1 record after opening the season with a 38-35 win at Simpson and dropping a 65-35 decision at home to Western Oregon.  Kickoff is set for 1pm at Bob Green Field at Alumni Coliseum as the Orediggers host Hall of Fame Weekend.

VOLLEYBALL

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 - AT BELLEVUE, NEBRASKA

The Oredigger volleyball team will have a big test Thursday evening on the road as they face the Bellevue (Nebraska) Bruins who are currently the 16th-ranked team in the NAIA.  Bellevue is 8-2 overall and have a perfect 4-0 mark in Frontier Conference play.  The Orediggers sit in the #24 position in the latest poll and are 10-1 overall, 5-0 in the Frontier Conference.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 - AT DAKOTA STATE

The Oredigger volleyball team will be up against another ranked opponent, this time in the #23 Dakota State Trojans.  Dakota State as of the time of publication is 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the Frontier Conference.

CROSS COUNTRY

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 AT MONTANA INVITE

The Oredigger men's and women's cross country teams will both be competing in the Montana Invitational at the University of Montana Golf Course on Friday
