Are you pumped for the Tom Keifer Band/L.A. Guns show that is coming up this September in the Butte Civic Center?  As a product of the 1980s, I have to say that Keifer's old band, Cinderella, was one whose CDs were always playing in my car.  Wait.  I didn't have a CD player.  I had a poorly-installed cassette deck in my car but that's beside the point.  I can't wait for the show.

The anticipation for this concert got me thinking about some of the other great shows that have come to Butte over the decades.  I don't remember Cinderella ever playing here but I definitely recall these guys showing up at the Civic Center (and at Instant Music for that matter, but that's another story) right before they had their big breakthrough in the mid 1980s.

POISON

Remember the Poison show when they showed up with Loudness?  I believe it was in support of their first album Look What the Cat Dragged In, and after that show the band just seemed to skyrocket to fame.  Which brings me to another great show that came to the Civic Center in 1994, but by this time, these guys were already in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

THE BEACH BOYS

The Beach Boys have appeared in Butte since their 1995 show and will appear at the Kettlehouse in Bonner this August, but what made their '95 performance so special was that the band had their original touring lineup on hand with Carl Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine and Bruce Johnston all playing together.  Seats were hard to find for that one.

Jason Aldean was an ambitious up-and-comer when he played the Butte Depot in 2005, but by the time he returned to the Civic Center in 2009 he was a bona fide Country superstar who is still incredibly successful today.

In May of 2012 the legendary B.B. King took the stage at the Mother Lode Theater in Butte for an inspired performance just 3 years before the legendary bluesman passed away.  The show was unforgettable.

KORN

It was a night of metal and mayhem as Korn and Rob Zombie put on a double bill of heavy hitting hard rock in the Butte Civic Center back in November of 2013.

There are many that are not on this very short list.  Blake Shelton.  Kenny Rogers.  REO Speedwagon.  Blue Oyster Cult.  What shows do you remember?  Which ones were your favorites?
