WHO IS BUTTE CARES?

Butte Cares is here to support the Butte community, in particular, our youth. Substance use among our young people, as well as adults, continues to adversely affect where we live, work, and play. Working together, we can build a safe, healthy, and drug-free community.

Butte cares, simply put, is an organization that cares about and works towards a healthy and happy community.  The Community Rock Garden is just one of many ways Butte Cares works every day to spread positivity and this iteration has the capacity to reach thousands of people at the Montana Folk Festival.  A recent Facebook post offered this invitation:

Join us for a meaningful and creative afternoon as we paint rocks for Butte’s very own Community Kindness Rock Garden — to be proudly displayed at the gates of the Original Mine during Folk Fest!  This garden will serve as a powerful visual reminder that Butte stands together, especially when it comes to supporting mental health. Each rock will be hand-painted with uplifting messages like:

  • You matter
  • You Are Loved
  • Butte Strong
These rocks can be taken, shared, or left to grow the garden. It’s all about spreading hope, kindness, and connection across our community.  All ages are welcome to attend including children with adult supervision.  They are also asking for volunteers to help guide kids, assist with the cleanup and keep the good vibes going.
Bring your art skills, your happy heart and your love for our community and help paint the town with kindness, one rock at a time.  The event will run from 1pm to 6pm between the Carousel and Ridge Waters Park and no reservations are required.
