When a member of the Butte community faces an unexpected medical challenge, friends, neighbors and coworkers find a way to come together.  To help.  To love.  That is exactly what is happening right now at Northwestern Energy.

Shannon Cooney is facing an immediate and crippling illness and her friends and coworkers, members of Northwestern Energy's Customer Associate Team, are coming together, hosting a SINGO fundraiser to help Shannon and her family deal with current and upcoming medical expenses.

The fundraiser will be held at Butte's Knights of Columbus Hall at 224 W. Park Street on Friday, November 6th with the doors opening at 5:30pm.  The evening is being planned not only as a fundraiser but also an opportunity for friends to spend precious time together while showing support for Shannon.

Guests will have a number of ways to participate throughout the evening.  The event will feature SINGO, along with a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, dinner and prizes.

While the primary goal is to raise money to help with medical expenses, organizers are also hoping the event provides a chance for the community to come together and offer some encouragement during what is a very difficult and challenging time for the Cooney family.

For those who cannot attend the November 6th event, there are still several ways to help.  Community members and businesses can donate items for the silent auction, make a monetary contribution or simply spread the word about Shannon's fundraiser with friends, family and coworkers.  Every contribution, whether it comes in the form of an auction item, a financial donation or attendance at the fundraiser can help provide support when it is needed the most.

If you are interested in donating an item, making a contribution or simply learning more about the event, please contact Peggy Bolton at Peggy.Bolton@northwestern.com.

The November 6th fundraiser offers Butte residents a simple opportunity to turn an evening of games, food and fellowship into something even more meaningful--helping a member of our community and reminding Shannon Cooney that she does not have to face the road ahead alone.
