Bozeman Standoff Involves Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies

In what seems like is becoming a regular thing, local law enforcement were involved in a standoff in Bozeman starting late Thursday afternoon.

According to the press release from Gallatin Country Sheriff Dan Springer, the incident started at around 4:30 pm after Officers went to a residence on Wilson Avenue to serve a temporary order of protection when things got out of hand.

According to the report from Sheriff Springer, the following occurred:

Upon arrival, deputies attempted to make contact with a male inside the residence. During these attempts, the male presented a sword-like weapon, pepper‑sprayed a deputy, barricaded himself inside, and made statements about harming people.

The report goes on to say that the suspect has been threatening his roommate and neighbors over the last few weeks which has resulted in multiple encounters with law enforcement.

The Sheriff also mentions in his press release that the SWAT Team was called in and would remain on the scene until it was completely resolved. Due to the nature of the incident, close residents were asked to leave for their own safety.

As of the this writing, the last update received was multiple hours ago where the Sheriff said the following in the release:
