Off In The Woods To Perform Friday at The Covellite in Butte
One of Montana's most popular touring bands with an incredibly unique backstory will perform this Friday night, July 24, at The Covellite at 215 W. Broadway in Uptown Butte.
Off In The Woods is a seven-piece band, complete with an organ and horn section, that formed in Polson on the Salish and Kootenai Reservation of Northwest Montana. Now seasoned touring musicians, Off In The Woods have been playing together since their core members were in the sixth grade.
In the time since, Off In The Woods has evolved in skill and in popularity, from playing dive-bars and small fairs to theaters, concert and big festivals. Their popularity is due in no small part to their rich, layered sound that incorporates soul, funk, reggae and open-tuned acoustic blues. They have spent the past 13 years touring Montana the Northwest and have shared the stage with such big names as George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, The Wailers, Clinton Fearon, Rusted Root, The English Beat, John Brown’s Body, and many more. The Covellite's intimate venue is a perfect place to experience this incredible live band doing what they do best.
Showtime for Friday's show is 8pm with doors opening at 7pm. There is a $5 cover charge. The band notes that this show will fall on band member Layne's birthday so an extra special performance with lots of energy is expected if not promised.
