The results of the Frontier Conference preseason volleyball coaches' poll are out and if what the coaches think is any indicator of what will happen, it's going to come down to Montana Tech and Rocky Mountain College.  As it has so many times before.

Montana Tech has narrowly edged Rocky as the preseason favorite to win the 2023 Frontier Volleyball title and the following is a release from the Montana Tech Athletic Department and Associate Athletic Director Nick Bowsher:

WHITEFISH, Mont. – The Frontier Conference released the preseason volleyball coaches’ poll. The coaches from the league selected last season’s regular season champion Montana Tech as the preseason favorite.  Montana Tech received four first place votes. Rocky Mountain receives the other two available first place votes landing second in the preseason poll. The Battlin’ Bears won the conference tournament last season.

The Orediggers went 9-1 in conference action last season. Head coach Brian Solomon was named the Frontier Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Orediggers to their third regular season title since he took the helm in 2012. Outside hitter Maureen Jessop was named the Frontier Player of the Year and was a NAIA Third Team All-American selection. The Orediggers return three more all-conference selections in addition to Jessop.

Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams. First place is worth five points, second place is worth four points, a third place is worth three points, fourth place is worth two points and fifth place is worth one point.
