World Museum of Mining announces Orphan Girl Mine 2025 Underground Music Series
As far as Montana music venues go, Butte has always been pretty close to the top of the list of cities with incredible places to play music or watch a live show. Sure, Billings has the Metra, Missoula the Adams Event Center and even here in Butte we have the beloved old Civic Center, but getting a Civic Center gig is a pretty hard ticket and concerts there aren't quite as common as they once were. Butte has the Mother Lode Theater and the Covellite, both great places to watch a show and some great outdoor concert areas like the one behind the Butte Depot. Well, now you can add another venue and this one definitely takes the cake in terms of uniqueness.
Yes, you read that correctly. The Orphan Girl MINE, not the children's theater, is hosting a live underground music series starting in August with the World Museum of Mining. Yes, it will be underground music, but it will actually be underground. Butte musicians playing to a very limited audience in the actual 100-level of the workings of the Orphan Girl Mine.
The series will run over the final few weeks of summer with the first show set for August 12th. The full lineup of performers will be announced soon and tickets for the shows will go on sale July 19th. Proceeds from the event will go to the World Museum of Mining.
