Missoula Carnival Ride Ensures Safety After Butte Incident
Just days after a 13-year-old Butte boy was thrown from a traveling carnival thrill ride, the “Yo Yo,” in the Butte Civic Center parking lot, a ride bearing the same name is being put up less than 2 hours away from the Mining City.
Paradise Amusements is the company who is constructing the carnival at the Southgate Mall in Missoula. According to an employee who approached me as I was taking pictures, the ride in question is similar to and bears the exact same name as the one behind the incident at the Butte Civic Center, but there are several big differences, notably that they are not part of the same company and that different companies have different safety standards. The Yo Yo at Southgate Mall, according to the employee, is “a completely different ride and a completely different company,” with “no association whatsoever” to the one that visited Butte.
