
Credit Union robbed on Elizabeth Warren in Butte, police looking for suspect
Officers with the Butte-Silver Bow Police Department are investigating an incident that took place shortly after noon on Monday at a local credit union on Elizabeth Warren Avenue and as of press time are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect, who is described as a white male with dark, curly hair and a beard, possibly wearing a green shirt. The agency also is looking for a possible escape vehicle. The following is a release from the Facebook page of the Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement Department.
At 12:21p.m. today, Butte Police responded to the Southwest Montana Community Federal Credit union at 1925 Elizabeth Warren in Butte.
A male had entered the credit union and given staff a note demanding money. The male was given an undisclosed amount of cash. The male then fled from the credit union, possibly in a dark colored passenger car.
No one was injured and no weapon was seen during the incident.
The male suspect is described as a white male, with dark curly hair and a dark beard. The male was possibly wearing a green shirt. A photo of the male suspect is attached.
Investigators are currently on scene at the credit union This investigation is in the very early stages and more information will be provided as soon as it becomes available. Anyone who has information can call the Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement Department at 406-497-1120.
