After a successful 2024 campaign that saw them finish the season with a 9-3 record and hosting a second-round NAIA national playoff game, the Montana Tech Orediggers look for another successful run in 2025 as the Frontier Conference expands. The Orediggers have released their 2025 schedule which will see some significant changes as the Frontier Conference separates into a two-division league bringing several new faces to town along with many familiar foes.
The expansion of the Frontier Conference will take effect in 2025. The Frontier now stands at 14 members for football and as such will be split into 2 divisions. According to the Frontier Conference Website, the conference will be split into an East Division and a West Division, each with 7 members. The winner of each division will get an automatic bid into the NAIA national playoffs.
You could say Saturday's game between Montana Tech is a big one, but that would be a huge understatement. Sure, Tech/Carroll is always a big deal but this year it is a home game, the final regular season game of the year and it has playoff seedings and implications written all over it. Plus, we are having an unseasonably warm fall, and we could even be seeing a little bit of sunshine by kickoff on Saturday afternoon at 1pm.
Boom, boom. After dispatching the then #3 ranked Georgetown Tigers a couple of Saturdays ago in their home opener and fresh off a road win over archrival Carroll College, the Montana Tech Orediggers have moved up in the national rankings.
Montana Tech will open the 2024 football season as the No. 21 team in NAIA football.
The Orediggers are one of three Frontier teams to make the top 25, with the College of Idaho checking in at No.4, and Montana Western landing at No.11.
Montana Tech Football released the 2024 recruiting class today announced Head Coach Kyle Samson. The Orediggers welcome 33 new student-athletes to the program for next fall.
The Preseason Coaches Poll for Frontier Conference Football has been released. This will be the first year with new football member Arizona Christian joining the Montana based conference.
