Montana State football is welcoming a new leader under center. Justin Lamson, a dual-threat QB with Power Five experience, is ready to make an immediate impact in Bozeman.

The Montana State Bobcats and NDSU Bison are set to collide in the 2027 Vegas Kickoff Classic, bringing one of the FCS’ fiercest rivalries to a neutral stage. Fans can expect high stakes, big plays, and a thrilling season opener.

This Saturday, Butte's "Touchdown" Tommy Mellott will lead the MSU Bobcats into Bobcat Stadium for the final time and, as expected, it is deep in the FCS Playoffs. Very deep. If the Bobcats beat South Dakota. Montana State will return to the National Championship game, a place they have been to before. In fact, had it not been for an injury to Mellott early in their last championship appearance many (including myself) believe the Bobcats would have won the game. But that is not the point. The point is that Mellott has brought the Bobcats back.

Butte has always had a special relationship with the annual Cat/Griz Football Game. Geographically, we're right between the two universities and in addition to sending several players to both teams' rosters, Butte even hosted the big game from 1926 to 1951.
