The Butte American Legion Baseball program is holding a fundraising Bingo Night on Friday, May 9 at the Knights of Columbus Hall with bingo games getting underway at 6:30pm. Your $25 donation will include 10 bingo games, 3 cards per game along with 10 prize tickets for drawings. All participants must be at least 18 years of age or older to play.

One advantage that sports-minded residents of Southwest Montana have over many other areas is the accessibility and variety of youth sports leagues, activities and programs that are available to their children. One such program is starting up its 11th year of activity with the appropriate motto of "start 'em young, raise 'em right". I am talking about the incredible Lil Dribbler Basketball League which will be firing up this Saturday morning. And boy, do they start 'em young.

It's no secret that one of the keys to a winning basketball program is to develop a legacy. A program that brings out the best in our youth not only on the court but in life as well. But as they say, you've got to start 'em young. And in these days of X-Box games and Tik Tok videos, it's getting harder and harder to get our young people interested in something like basketball. But that's what local travel basketball program Team UpTop is doing

Lil' Dribblers is for kids up to 7 years of age, although they are willing to fudge a little bit on the age restrictions, and the program is more of an open-gym than a basketball league. The kids play at their own pace, whatever the pace may be, and learn as much about teamwork and friendship as they do about basketball fundamentals.

Butte's Team Uptop is the lowest cost travel basketball organization in the state and continues to grow.
