The Frontier Conference lands 9 All-Americans.
The 2022 AFCA NAIA Coaches’ All-America Teams have been announced by the American Football Coaches Association.
The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions, what separates this list from others, is it is selected by the coaches. The AFCA selects an offensive player of the year, a defensive player of the year, a First Team Offense and Defense, a Second Team Offense and Defense, and an Honorable Mention list by position.
The Frontier Conference landed 9 players total on the AFCA Coaches’ All-America Team, 3 First Team, 1 Second Team, and 5 Honorable Mentions.
First Team All-Americans:
Offensive Lineman- Noah Danielson, UM Western (Vaughn, MT) Danielson was also named First Team All-Conference this year as Western put up 4675 yards of total offense, with 2104 of that on the ground.
Defensive Lineman- Garrett Kobac- Carroll College (Phelan, CA)- Kobac was named the Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Year, as well as First Team All-Conference. Kobac finished the season with 58 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks.
Defensive Back- Dorian Hardin- College of Idaho (Oak Harbor, WA)- Dorian becomes the 3rd Coyote defensive player to earn All-American honors. The Senior finished the season with 45 tackles, 14 pass breakups, and 3 interceptions.
Second Team All-Americans:
Offensive Lineman- Andrew Carter- Carroll College (Gooding, ID)- Carter makes it two years in a row, being named All-American, being named to the list in 2021 as well. He was also named First Team All-Conference this year as well.
Honorable Mention All-Americans:
Jon Jund- QB- UM Western (Spring Creek, NV)- Jund in his Senior campaign, was named Offensive Player of the Year in the Frontier for the second season in a row, he also garnered First Team All-Conference. He led the conference in passing yards per game, total passing yards, as well as passing Touchdowns this season.
Trevor Hoffman- WR- Montana Tech (Renton, WA)- Hoffman led the Frontier with 50 receptions, and 757 receiving yards this season. He finishes his career at Montana Tech as the all-time leader is receiving yards with 2,897, and also owns the all-time touchdown mark with 26.
Jake Regino- LB- Southern Oregon (Sacramento, CA)- Jake was the leading tackler in the Frontier Conference this year, as he amassed 113 tackles in 10 games, for an average of 11.3 a game. That mark was also good for the 5th highest in the NAIA.
Kaysan Barnett DB- Rocky Mountain (Phoenix, AZ) – The Sophomore also was named First Team All Conference. He finished the season with 38 tackles, and 5 interceptions (tied for most in conference)
Dylan Martinez- LB -College of Idaho- (Boise, ID) - A 3-time first-team All-Conference selection, he led College of Idaho with 63 tackles.
