BBBS-Butte Bingo Bonanza Event a hit
Friday night the Butte Depot Ballroom was turned into a Bingo wonderland as hundreds showed up to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butte. And what a night they had.
The night was a success due in no small part to the incredible number of Southwest Montana businesses and organizations that donated merchandise for prize packages. Everything from a Headframe Spirits liquor basket to a "staycation" basket and even a pizza party package as bingo game prizes, the night also featured a 50/50, a Dutch Auction and three special "blackout" games for bigger prizes like a smart TV and a $250 gift card to Steele's Warehouse. One of the biggest payouts of the evening went to Father Tom Haffey, who has mentored thousands himself. In another selfless act, Father Haffey didn't take a nickel of the more than $850 jackpot, giving the entire amount back to BBBS-Butte and their programs.
Another reason for the large turnout is the support and love that Southwest Montana has for Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Butte who is nearing their 60th year of providing positive mentorship to the youth our our area. "Bigs" are matched with "littles" in either individual or school-based mentoring programs and there is always room for more help, whether it be as a mentor or a volunteer in some other capacity. If you would like to find out more about Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Butte, their programs and how you can become a part of it, hit up their website or stop by their office in the Executive Village on Front Street.
