The Butte Central Maroons have announced their weekly sports schedule and in an announcement from Activities Director Chad Petersen, have decided to cancel their upcoming football game that was scheduled for Friday Night against the park High School Rangers in Livingston.

FOOTBALL

"Due to several recent injuries, our non-conference football game at Park scheduled for Friday, October 11th has been cancelled. At this time there are no plans to reschedule this game," Petersen wrote in an email.  The Maroons, although young and small in numbers, have managed to put up an even mark so far this season at 3-3 with wins over Hamilton, Browning and Ronan and losses to Corvallis, Polson and Libby.  Last week's loss to Libby was particularly costly to the Maroons as Head Coach Don Peoples was ejected for arguing a call with under 2 minutes to play.  The ejection automatically means Peoples is ineligible to participate in the following contest which, given the circumstances, would have been a nonconference game against a winless opponent.  Instead, Peoples will miss a road contest against the defending State Champion Dillon Beavers.

CROSS COUNTRY

Thursday the Butte Central Cross-Country teams will head to Helena for the 7 on 7 meet.  The first race of the day is scheduled for 12pm.  On Saturday, the Maroons will compete in the Corvallis meet with again, a 12pm first race.

 VOLLEYBALL

Thursday the BC volleyball teams will head to Stevensville.  The freshmen play at 4:15pm, the JVs at 5:30pm and the varsity match is set for 7pm.  Saturday the Maroons will host the Corvallis Blue Devils at the Maroon Activities Center.  The freshmen are scheduled for 1pm, the JVs at 2:30 and the varsities at 4pm.
