Musical lineup set for Friday’s Mark LaFond Benefit
Friday evening's benefit for Mark LaFond at the Butte Depot is going to be something special as far as accompanying entertainment.
First and foremost, the evening is a way for friends, families, supporters and anyone who loves live music to raise money to help Mark LaFond in his recovery from a major heart surgery. Mark himself is one of the more accomplished musicians in Southwest Montana having been a drummer and vocalist in several successful projects since he was still in high school. In the time since, he has made friends with not just other musicians but those that he has entertained. Mark is simply one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and his friendship is sincere.
Speaking of musicians. the Butte scene will definitely be showing up. The evening is being spearheaded by Mark's brother, Kevin, who is a virtuoso guitar and pedal/steel player. Kevin will be behind the board of Frank Hall's sound system. Frank is THE club DJ in Southwest Montana but he is also the bassist/vocalist of the incomparable power trio Check Engine Light who will be on stage following a performance by Butte's High Ore Road.
You can expect to see Kevin showing his stuff as the Ken Rich Band takes the stage later in the evening and a very special performance by Mark and Kevin's father and uncle.
You can bet that many other musicians will be in attendance and as such, many additions, subtractions, substitutions and more could be played with any band's lineup and a massive jam session is a certainty.
Bring a few extra dollars and bid on some of the items in the auctions and plan on having a good time.
