Living in the Mining City, particularly if you live or work in the incredible historic district Uptown, we almost take for granted the gorgeously designed buildings and breathtaking architecture that surrounds us.  Have you ever stepped back and taken a look at some of Uptown's beautiful buildings?  The detail and pride that went into their construction is something that is displayed front and center with the building's name and sometimes even the year of construction put into the brick-and-mortar of the building itself.

The Campana Building on West Park Street is one of Butte's oldest, if not the oldest, original storefronts still standing.  The western half of the complex now serves as one of Montana's greatest college bars and the eastern side, three years older, serves as a popular pizza joint.  But can you recognize it by name or year?

Okay, we'll give you this one.  It's the Vu Villa, but if you're an Oredigger or an aficionado of taco pizza, you probably knew that.  Some of these historic buildings and their signs are obvious, some even still being used for their original purpose, like the Masonic Temple.

If you grew up in Butte in the 70s and 80s, you definitely recognize this one.

Some, though, are not so obvious.  Do you recognize these buildings, by name only?  This one, once a bank, now serves as one of the Mining City's most unique hotels.

No hints on these ones, though.  Can you place them just by their building name?

Now that we've seen some of the original signage, let's take a look at some of the adverts and bills that once went on many of these buildings' outer walls.
