Plans are underway for the annual Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Butte Gala and early indicators are that this event is going to be a big one.  The gala will be taking place Saturday, April 1 at the Star Lanes Event Center and Laci Peck Ridder, Executive Director of BBBS-Butte is excited.  "We'll be selling tickets leading up to it and during the event we're also going to be selling our massive raffle packages that we've done for the past several years," she said noting that the packages for this year's event are being put together right now but in the past have included such notable items such as a Southwest golf tour, a huge barbecue package and even a Chico Hot Springs getaway package.  Ritter noted that they will be given away during the Gala and expects this year's packages to be enviable and that there will be a 50/50 drawing, a silent auction and a Dutch auction at the event as well.

The theme for this year's gala is "Adult Prom-Through the Decades."  And Ridder says the idea is an easy one.  "We want people to show up in what they would have worn to THEIR Senior Prom," she said with a laugh.  Local band High Ore Road will perform for the dance and Ridder added that there are many ways that local businesses and individuals can help.  'We'll be looking for sponsors for the event as well as donations for items," Ridder said.  Table sponsorships are $500 and includes tickets to the event as well as several drink tickets.  People wanting to help with the event are being sought after as well.  For details, call Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butte at (406)782-9644 or shoot an email to info@bbbsbutte.org,  Here's a link to our earlier article on other ways you might be a good match for BBBS-Butte.
