Orediggers host Providence tonight in doubleheader at Kelvin Sampson Court
It's not been often as of late that we have been able to say that the Orediggers are looking for redemption against a Frontier Conference opponent. Montana Tech's mens team is 8-1 in league play and are riding a 4-game winning streak. Over the last 4 games they have beaten every opponent by 18 or more. Their last setback? January 20th against the University of Providence,70-59 in Great Falls. Tonight, the Argos come to Butte for a conference doubleheader that starts with the women's game at 5pm and you could say that both teams are looking for a bit of revenge.
Women coming off a road win at Montana-Western
The Oredigger women come into tonight's contest at 11-11 overall with a 2-7 mark in the Frontier. They are coming off a 10-point win at Montana Western on Saturday but will have their hands full as Providence is ranked #16 in the nation. The Argos got past the Orediggers 65-53 on January 20th in Great Falls. The Providence women are 15-7 overall with a 6-3 mark in the Frontier Conference.
Men look to avenge the lone blemish on their conference record
Setbacks have been few this season for the Oredigger Men but one could point to their lone conference loss to Providence in January. You can bet that Coach Adam Hiatt has. Since that date, the Orediggers have been steamrolling the conference with a different player stepping up every time out. Michael Ure went 8 for 9 from the three-point line against Northern. Asa Williams put 23 on Carroll. And Caleb Bellach has been, well, Caleb Bellach. The men are 18-4 overall and ranked #11 in the country. Providence is 11-11 overall, 4-5 in league play. The men tipoff tonight at 7pm.
