Orediggers return home to face Dickenson State, Bismarck State this weekend
After three consecutive weekends on the road, the Montana Tech men's and women's basketball teams will return home to some flashy new amenities at Valley Bank Arena looking to gain momentum heading into the homestretch of the Frontier Conference regular season. The Diggs will take on Dickenson State on Friday night followed by Bismarck State on Saturday. The women's games both evenings will tip off at 5pm followed by the men at 7pm.
The Oredigger women are ranked #13 in the nation and are 16-4 overall, 10-6 in the Frontier Conference and are on a rare two-game losing streak having dropped last Friday's contest at Carroll 41-69 and Saturday's contest at Rocky, 50-64. Dickinson State is 6-14 overall, 5-12 in the Frontier. Montana Tech beat Dickenson State in Dickenson, ND 75-59 back on January 3rd.
The Bismarck State women are 6-15 overall, 6-10 in the Frontier Conference and lost their first meeting with the Orediggers 76-96.
The Montana Tech men come into the weekend on a bit of a slide having lost 3 of 4 but are still in the hunt for a fifth-straight conference title with an overall mark of 16-6 and a 10-6 mark in league play. Dickinson State is 7-15 overall, 5-11 in league play but have an impressive 10-point road win over Rocky Mountain College under their collective belt and are under the tutelage of former Oredigger assistant Derek Selvig. On January 3rd in Dickinson, ND, the Orediggers beat the Bluehawks 77-57.
The Bismarck State men are 1-21 overall, 1-15 in conference play and were beaten 68-90 by the Orediggers on January 2nd.
