Montana Tech Faces Dickinson State in NAIA Playoffs
After closing out the regular season with three straight wins including last weekend's impressive 23-17 win at Carroll College, the Montana Tech Orediggers football team has qualified for the 2023 NAIA National Playoffs and will host a first-round game this Saturday at Bob Green Field. The following is a release from the Montana Tech Athletic Department:
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the Football First Round Pairings for the 2023 NAIA Football Playoffs, and the Orediggers of Montana Tech will host the Blue Hawks of Dickinson State.
Montana Tech (7-3, 6-2 conference) who finished second in the Frontier Conference, received an at-large bid and will be one of four teams to host a first-round matchup.
The four games this weekend will be:
Reinhardt (Ga.) at St. Thomas (Fla.)
Dickinson State (N.D.) at Montana Tech
Ottawa (Kan.) at Dordt (Iowa)
Louisiana Christian at Baker (Kan.)
The winners of those four games will be added to the 12 teams that received first-round byes, making a 16-team bracket after this weekend.
Dickinson State University finished the 2023 regular season, with an 8-0 record in the North Star Conference, and a 9-1 overall record. Their only loss coming to Rocky Mountain College on August 26th, 20-19.
The teams have met four times since 2012, with two of those coming in the 2015 and 2016 NAIA Playoffs.
Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, November 14th at 2pm on the Civic Center website. Ticket prices for the playoff games are: premium reserved seating $35, reserved bench seating- $25, and general admission $20. All passes are not accepted for this game. Current season ticket holders have first right of refusal for their seats. All season ticket holders will be contacted Monday and/or Tuesday for their tickets.
