Orediggers rise again in Top 25 poll
The following is a release from the Montana Tech Sports Information Department:
KANSAS CITY, Mo.- For the third straight week the Orediggers of Montana Tech have climbed in the GoRout Top 25 Football Ratings. After a week three bye, Montana Tech has jumped from No. 15 up to No. 12.
The Frontier Conference is incredibly well represented, with Montana Western at No. 4, the College of Idaho at No. 9, the Orediggers at No. 12, and Southern Oregon at No. 20.
For the third straight edition, Keiser (Fla.) leads all teams in the NAIA Football GoRout Top 25 Ratings, gathering 15 of 17 first place votes. The other two were given to Northwestern (Iowa) who is second while Grand View (Iowa) bumps up to third after winning their 51st straight regular season game. Montana Western leaps up five spots to now sit in fourth followed by Marian (Ind.) who slips one rank.
Rating Methodology:
- The rating is rated by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. Each conference is given one rater for every four schools in the league or division.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater rates the best teams. A team receives 25 points for each first-place vote, 24 for second-place, 23 for third-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ratings for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) are removed. The team's rating will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the team appears on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
